Specific Digestive Conditions

One of the most common digestive conditions in a person is Acid Reflux, this is mostly caused on lying down after having an unusually large meal, eating closer to bedtime, consuming carbonated drinks and spicy food, smoking or drinking, taking medicines like pain killers, being obese and being pregnant. This condition is usually caused when the acid produced by the stomach moves up into the esophagus thereby causing a burning sensation or heart burn. The other symptoms that are seen in this condition are bloating, nausea, burping, hiccups, sore throat, cough, vomiting’s and a feeling that something is stuck in the throat. All the above symptoms are caused due to stress, bad diet which includes refined and processed food, sugars, and unhealthy fatty foods, lack of exercise, presence of certain toxins, germs and viruses in the food we consume.

It’s also surprising to note that the medications we take regularly like painkillers, anti-depressants and other medicines for treating osteoporosis and inflammation can also cause acid reflux and heartburn. It’s informative to note that acid reflux can lead to most of the common diseases like heart ailments, cancer, arthritis, obesity and other digestive conditions. To maintain a thorough defense system in our body, we should try to follow certain steps to avoid this condition like eating small meals 5 to 6 times a day, maintaining a gap of 3 hours between eating and sleeping, ensuring that we exercise daily, including lots of fiber and greens, whole grains, unrefined food, probiotics, nuts, omega 3 fatty acids and healthy oils in our daily diet. Identifying the root cause for any disease is crucial to treat it; this is very true in the case of such digestive disorders which if not treated at the right time and in a right manner can lead to cancer of the esophagus.
